Mommy's Movie Star!

This is just a post of some videos of Jackson from 3 weeks until now (11 1/2) weeks! It is so neat to see how much he has changed in such a short amount of time! I am training him for the big screen!

Busy Busy Busy week!

This week was a very busy one! We started off the week by attending Dennis and Mari's wedding in Hershey with many friends and family! It was also Jack's first long car trip and stay overnight someplace other than home. Babci came along with us to go to the ceremony and then watch Jack while Frank and I went to the reception (Mommy's first night --even though it was only about 4 hours-- away from Jack). It was nice for Frank and I to have a night out and get to catch up with family and friends and for me to have a glass of wine! Congratulations to Dennis and Mari!

On Monday we celebrated Memorial Day by heading to Elizabethtown (my Alma mater) to visit with some very good old friends, Elie, Dave, Bryan, James and Natalie. It had been a couple of years since we had seen them and I was in shock to see how grown up the kids were...especially Natalie! It was so neat to see what kind of people they have become!

After our visit we met Tara and Terrance and Andrew and Maggie for Jack's first visit to T.J. Rockwells, our favorite college hangout, with one of the coolest outside decks I have ever seen! (Frank agrees!) After a very hot lunch (90 degrees) we headed home and literally crashed!

The next couple of days were spent recovering from our excursion and doing mundane chores such as cleaning and grocery shopping. On Thursday Jack and I were invited to join the SJ Hip Mamas for a walk around Newton lake park and then a play date for the kiddies afterward. It was so much fun to meet other moms with kids ranging from Jack's age and younger to 4 years old. I am really looking forward to attending more outings and I was thrilled to find a new place to walk with a huge playground...and only 7 minutes from home! After the park my mom came to spend a few days with us. We spent the last couple of days playing with Jack, shopping, cooking and eating, and just catching up. Grammy was extremely sucessful in the shopping catagory. She was able to find a dress for my brother's wedding in August and an outfit for the rehearsal dinner too. The price...unbelieveable. Let's just say cashmere sweater--$11! The week was a very busy one but fun, and we were so thankful to see everyone that we did!

After our very long week one little guy was very tired......

I'm Adorable!

Jack has some pajamas that say "I'm Adorable" and so true it is! Here are some pictures that really capture how adorable Jack is at 10 weeks!

Did he grow overnight?

Did he grow overnight? If you ask me, I would say the answer is a resounding YES! Everyday that we wake up I look at him while he is eating and I swear that his head is bigger than when he went to sleep. It's amazing to watch our little guy get bigger literally by the day! Maybe it is not happening overnight, but week to week we are seeing noticeable changes. Jack just started wearing 3 month clothes in the last 2 weeks, and already, some are getting a little snug or short in the arms and legs!

Here are some pictures taken about 8 weeks apart -- the first at 2 weeks and the second at 10 weeks -- hard to believe!

Other news...We moved Jack out of his co-sleeper that was in our bed (he literally out-grew that too) to the pack n' play, right next to the bed. You might think...oh that's nothing....but I bet many of you first time Mommies will agree, it was hard! Although I don't miss sleeping on a tiny sliver of the bed, I miss being able to lay in bed and gaze at my sleeping baby. It was so easy to pick him up in the middle of the night at the first sign of a sound to feed him. So, what do I do? When he wakes up now I am not so quick to put him back in his comfy little pack n' play. I have found many comfortable ways to sleep while holding him, and surprisingly, we both seem to be getting restful sleep. I guess it is a process, that little thing called letting go, as is the rest of growing up! What am I going to do when he goes to school????

A restful night!

Big News! Jack slept through the night for the first time last night! After 1 1/2 of crying, Mommy started the bedtime routine early (bath, lotion massage, eat, rock, lullaby) and finally.....ahhh....sleep. FOR THE ENTIRE NIGHT! He slept from 8:30 until 5:30 (then of course was wide awake, ready to eat and raring to go!) It was wonderful, while Daddy was out of town for a Bruce Springsteen concert, Mommy and Jackson enjoyed a very restful night of sleep! Next step, sleeping in his own bed!

First Phillies Game!

Today we took Jack to his first Phillies game, which he really seemed to enjoy. Upon napping on the way in to the ballpark, he encountered some very loud clapping and cheering from the sold out crowd, much to his wide eyed surprise. (At least we know his hearing is ok!) He was such a content baby for the majority of the time riding in his 'Ultimate Baby Carrier' and enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of baseball. He took it all in, and, like the saying goes, 'There's no crying in baseball' and today was no exception! Jack, you make your Daddy proud!

Bright Future!

Frank suggested that I get some baby sunglasses one day because every time we take Jack outside, sunny or not, he squints in the bright light. So.......I did! Just thought these were too cute to pass up a blog opportunity! Kim said it best, "his future is so bright, he already needs the sunglasses!"

A Very Happy Mother's Day!

This weekend was a busy one! We thought we might catch a few hours to relax, but no such luck! Although it was very busy, it was very nice too! We celebrated Frank's 39th birthday on Saturday with blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Yummy! We then went to his cousin wedding ceremony in the city, and then stopped by for a visit with Uncle Matt. Later, Frank went to the reception while Jack and I hung out around the house and Aunt Gail came over to visit us! After I put Jack to bed, Gail and I did what girls do best on a Saturday night....ate chocolate!

Sunday was, of course, my first Mother's Day! It was such a beautiful day. We went to mass and then later my brother stopped by and we all went out for lunch. The best part of the day though was spending it with my family! It was a very happy Mother's Day!

8 weeks and an early Mother's Day

Earlier this week we were blessed with a visit from our "moms" (Frank's mom and mine ~ Babci & Grammy~ often travel together). It was so nice for them to make the 3 hour trek to come and see us as Jackson turned 8 weeks old! We also got to celebrate an early Mother's Day, and spent the day enjoying a yummy lunch and then doing some lite shopping -- a perfect day!

We also had our 8 week doctor visit in which we found out that Jack weighs in at 12 lbs 10 oz. and is 23 1/2 inches! Big Boy! He also received some not so fun shots. Actually "not so fun" is a total understatement. There was much crying. Not fun, but we want to stay healthy.

I feel like my baby boy is growing so fast. He is only 8 weeks old and I am already packing up the newborn stuff (which I was still squeezing him into -- he looked like a little sausage) for the 3-6 month wardrobe. I can't believe it....don't get me wrong, I love the smiley, cooing, kicking stage that he is in now, beginning to be so aware of the world, and although the new outfits are super cute, I truly felt sad packing up all those itty bitty clothes and thinking of how quickly the time has passed. Although time is flying, Frank and I both agree that we feel like Jack has always been a part of us and we can't imagine life now without him!

Pioneer of the Nile

This weekend we celebrated Grace's First Holy Communion and spent the day with many friends and family members. It also happened to be the day of the Kentucky Derby. Frank, in the spirit of anything sports related, decided that he would organize and take/place bets for the big race (the shortest ~~and my favorite~~ of all sporting events). Needless to say we all were pretty hopeless when it came to betting on the ponies. Most of us, especially the girls, of course picked based on the name of the horse. Some favorites: Mr. Hot Stuff (of course) and Chocolate Candy (who doesn't like that?). I also just randomly happened to choose Pioneer of the Nile because I was told to bet my $20 on 3 horses. Now I can certainly say that it is obvious no one really new what they were doing if ..... I was the big winner of the day!!! Pretty funny. Even though I won a whopping $33, it is definitely something to be proud of (at least for me!) We have a start to Jackson's college fund!!!! In honor of the Derby, Linda, Betty and Kim started making the traditional hat with a slightly untraditional twist...thank goodness for all of the ribbons and wrapping from the Communion gifts! Here are some photos...Enjoy! Oh...and a couple of Jack because he is just so cute (The outfit? Complements of Colleen!)
