Goin' Wild In Wildwood

We took our first family beach vacation at Wildwood Crest. Ahhhh the good old Jersey Shore! Even though we only went for 4 days, it was WONDERFUL to take a break from real life. It was even more wonderful because we stayed with the awesome Gerickes' who helped to make that break even truer. Frank, Jack and I got some fun beach time filled with sand, sun and surf. Even though it is a challenge dealing with all 3 of those with a 5 month old (sand in diapers, spf 50, and cold ocean waves) we still had a great time.

Saturday night Kim, Michael, Mike & Sammie decided to watch Jack for us so that Frank and I could have a date night! Our first since Jack was born!!! We walked on the boardwalk enjoyed some pizza and ice cream and rode on the giant Ferris wheel (and by giant I mean MASSIVE). I was a little freaked out by it, it was so high up and the wind was stronger than I have ever felt, but it was a neat memory.

After a very hot and rainy Sunday morning and afternoon it cleared up just enough to make the 20 minute drive to Cape May's beautiful Sunset Beach. As the guys fished and swam, the girls and Jack looked for beach stones and took advantage of the cloudy but eearily beautiful sunset right before the big storm rolled in. Frank called it the lightening storm of the century. Imagine driving through that with a screaming baby in the car....fun. Sorry again, Sammie, for having to endure that car trip!

Thank you to the Gerickes for thier wonderful hospitality, generosity, conversation, good company and fun time. We WILL be back!
