Williamsburg - Vacation Part 2 Huzzah!

Please forgive me for posting this almost a month afterward but life has been extremely crazy and busy around here!

Huzzah (originally huzza, and in some North American dialects hurrah) is an archaic English interjection of joy or approbation. According to the Oxford English Dictionary it is "apparently a mere exclamation"[1]. The dictionary does not mention any specific derivation. Whatever its origins, it has seen occasional literary use since at least the time of Shakespeare.   ~~ A word used frequently in Williamsburg....Hooray!

The second leg of our family trip 'south' was a two night stop off in Williamsburg, VA.  It was an opportunity for us to extend our family time (ha ha) and to experience some good old Americana.  When we arrived at our (gasp) pet friendly hotel, I wasn't quite sure what to expect.  The only other experience I have had with a "pet friendly" motel was years ago on a trip to Wildwood, NJ with my mother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law where there was a band-aid stuck to the wall and a toilet that no one wanted to sit on (and yes, we still laugh in disbelief to this day that we even decided to stay and at a very funny looking dog that I still can picture in my mind perfectly).  This place however was quite the contrary.  It was actually kind of hybrid of a college campus looking, resort boasting, pet allowing, breakfast serving, woodland loving type of place.  We ended up really enjoying our stay and would totally return.  To make it even better, there was a wooded area behind our room with a playground, mini-golf, shuffle board, a really nice pool and plenty of trees to make any dog very happy.

While Frank "rested" his leg, Jack and I braved the 108 degree day to explore (at least briefly) Colonial Williamsburg.  We got out nice and early when it was only 100 degrees outside to attend a Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme tour of a colonial farm where Jackson tried on some authentic hats and shoes, saw some animals, watered a beautiful garden, and made a new friend.

Despite all of the pain and suffering that Frank endured during the trip, he was a trooper and really did not let his injury get him down (too much), always making the most of every situation.  Just another reminder of why I married you, and why you are and will always be a fantastic father!
