A Boy And His Dog

We know that Jack loves us (Mommy and Daddy that is), but nothing compares to how much he loves Zoe! Nothing makes him smile or laugh the way she does. The perfect example of best friends (well, when he is not grabbing her eyes and pulling on her ears...)

Jack and His Babci

I know this blog post is a little delayed, but still worth posting. Babci came for a visit last weekend much to Jack's adoration. We had a blast swinging at the playground, walking with Zoe, taking a hayride at the pumpkin patch, and playing at My Gym. It was a fun filled weekend with Babci! After your departure Babci we all got sick! BOO HOO! Come back soon and bring some more fun to us!

A Very Happy, Giggly and Hungry Little Guy!

The noise you hear before each burst of adorable baby laughter is me banging on the floor! A new favorite way to pass the time!

More Laughter....

Jack is also learning to feed himself. A skill that he seems to be mastering rather quickly. What can I say...the kid takes after his Daddy....he loves to eat!

Sleepless Nights Update

A quick update, after a few nights of ridiculousness (waking up every hour or not sleeping at all) Jackson has had a couple of much more restful nights. Just in time for Mommy to get sick....EW. I need all the rest I can get.....keep up the good work Bub!

Sleepless Nights

OK...I have to admit, I have had a rather easy baby and as a result have not had to endure the horror stories that other Mommies are talking about...until last night. I am feeling extremely tired and frustrated caused by the lack of sleep from the previous two nights. Saturday night I thought was just a fluke, with Jack waking up about once an hour all night long. But last night?....I don't know if I can survive it again. He was literally up ALL NIGHT LONG until about 5 am, when he finally fell asleep and ironically enough I needed to get up for work. The crazy part is that I have no idea why this is happening. Maybe teeth, maybe hitting a milestone (crawling very soon), maybe just wanting Mommy (not Daddy...of course in the middle of the night he wouldn't want to disturb Daddy) who knows. As my friend Carla says.."you just do it"....well she is right...I am "just doing it" but I feel like a walking zombie. Perfect timing for Halloween. Any suggestions for getting a 7 month old to sleep through the night? Or at least only wake up once or twice? HELP ME!

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

Apparently my son...but more about that later! Weeks ago I had received an e-mail about a pumpkin festival in Moorestown and, being the fall lover that I am, I decided it would be a perfect Saturday outing. Envisioning pumpkins galore and lots of fall festivities I did not want to pass it up. I thought I had even convinced Frank to join us (somehow he got out of this one too). Upon pulling up to the location I had to laugh at myself and my grand delusions of what I thought we would experience. Instead of fall foliage, steaming apple cider, and hoards of pumpkins, I saw a couple of tents set up with sand art and a few lone jack-o-lanterns on the railing of a deck. Even though I felt dissapointment looming, I didn't let it get the best of me. My friend Lyndsey, her daughter Madison, Jack and I still had a great time admiring artwork and more carved pumpkins inside of the community house. We even had the opportunity to dress up and get a picture taken. After deciding on our theme, Little Red Riding Hood/Feather Boa and the Big Bad Wolf, I retrieved my sleepy son from his stroller and we all sat down for the picture. I'm not sure if it was the hat I put on his head, the wolf costume I was wearing or the fact that I picked him up at all, but he wasn't liking the picture taking part of our day. The good news? He was back asleep in less than 2 minutes! I am currently on the lookout for any autumn inspired activities...any suggestions???

September Came....and Left....Quickly!

Well....things around here have obviously been CRAZY! We are going through a MAJOR adjustment in the Drachowski home! Between Mommy going back to work, Part-time Daddy Duty (while trying to work full time), Part-time babysitter, and about 101 weddings and obligations (well actually only 3 weddings in 5 weeks...but it might as be 101 when you have no time anyway), cranky teething baby, and lack of sleep for all has made for a very CRAZY September.

I'll start with me: I have been having an interesting transition going back to work. Between lesson plans, choir, pumping, and all else that goes into a school day, it has been extremely busy. Add this to the fact the the minute I walk in the door I am in "Mommy-Mode" and this equals absolutely zero time to myself.....EVER. I know understand when first time Mom's say they barely have time to shower...I can take it one step further and say I barely (or sometimes even don't) have time to go to the bathroom. Don't they tell you when you are a kid that it is bad for you if you hold it in???? All in all though I am just missing my days with my little man and it did take me a couple of weeks to mourn the loss of being a stay at home Mom! I can't say that I completely successfully transitioned into career Mom because I feel like our lives are always transitioning and changing, but we are getting there....whatever that means.

Now Daddy: They way I see it: He is definitely searching for the balance between trying to work full time (from home) and watch Jackson 3 days a week! Hard???? Sure! A better word...IMPOSSIBLE! We have all learned from each other....fought some, but at the end of the day try to laugh and enjoy our wonderful son and of course thank God for how lucky we are to have him and our crazily busy jobs.

As for Jackson, aside from still growing like a weed, teething and drooling constantly, and waking up numerous time a night (sometimes to eat, sometimes just to cuddle and other times to play) he is amazing. Six months is such a fun age. He is eating and seems to be enjoying lots of foods, sitting up completely by himself for long stretches, and get ready for it....pulling himself up to standing! The crawling has yet to happen and he may be running around before that. It is amazing how quickly he masters a skill or how determined he is. Whether it is to grab something out of his reach or get a better view of his favorite companion Zoe, he definitely has a mind of his own. He is growing up so quickly and we are still just trying to enjoy every moment. And those other working Moms are absolutely right...seeing that big semi-toothy smile just for me when I walk in the door after work is the best part of my day!

Here are some pictures from September to enjoy!
